The Kelly Family is a European-American band of 9  members, Paddy Kelly, Angelo Kelly, Maite Kelly, Barby Kelly, Jimmy Kelly, John Kelly, Joey Kelly, Patricia Kelly, and Kathy Kelly. Their brother Paul is also a musician, but does not often play in the band. Caroline and Daniel Kelly are part of the family though, for varied reasons, were never peforformed with their siblings in the group.

The group had an unusual and unique qypsy image lifestyle. They wore bright costumes and floral skirts, and their hair was very long even on the boys.

They travelled round Europe living in an origionally green then red double decker bus and then a houseboat, and in the later years the 'Kelly castle.'
Since 2000, however, the band has taken a more modern approach.

They first appeared on TV in 1975. In 1977, they received a record contract in Germany. Soon after they had their first chart hit in 1980 with "Who will come with me (Davids song)". This hit number 1 in Netherlands and Belgium and was in the top 20 in Germany.
In 1994, their album "Over the hump" sold more than 3.5 million copies in Germany alone, the biggest selling pop album in German history.
They then played a concert in Vienne to 250,000 people in 1995. In the same year they filled the Westfalenhalle, Dorthund, nine times in a row, something no musician has since accomplished.
With a total of 15 million albums sold and over 2 million videos the kelly family can look back 27 years of history and sucsessful career. Worldwide, the kelly's have collected a stack of gold disks and 48 platinum disks to date.

The band was origionally called 'The Kelly Kids' though was later re named 'The Kelly Family.'
